AI Chatbot in Python

Python is one of the most popular and fastest growing high level languages in the world. Facebook, Youtube and Google all use it in their backend. In this challenge you will create your very own 'artificially intelligent' chatbot.

CHALLENGE: Extend this program to do the following a) Ask the user for their age and favourite movie b)G&T: Use an 'If Else' function if possible to control the flow of the program

The game design and app business is absolutely huge. Did you know that Minecraft was created in JavaScript. To start creating a world, you have to start with a single block...and then a series of blocks. So let's get started with this series of challenges

The three programming constructs we will be covering in this section are:

>>Sequence

>>Selection (If statements)

>Iteration (Loops)

#1 Tinker with this JavaScript game

Click on the JavaScript file and look through the code for this game. Spot the variables. A variable can be thought of as a storage box for a value. A JavaScript variable will usually start with 'var'. e.g. var name = "John";

#2 The four block JavaScript challenge

A single block has been generated using JavaScript. Your challenge is to generate four blocks, equal in size, and seperated from each other by a few cm, on the screen e.g. ■ ■ ■ ■

#3 Now, see if you can create a 'T'

Now, that you understand the principles of computer coordinates (and if you're not sure, please watch this video, see if you can create a T on the screen

#4 Using IF statements to make things happen

If statements and conditional logic are one of the most important programming constructs.

CHALLENGE: Add code to this program, so that if the value of x (the block moving along the x axis) is less than 20, then the 'Welcome' message will turn to '....to the left..'

#4 Using Loops to do miraculous things!

Loops are useful for when you wish to repeat a task several times. You'll come across them all the time in coding

CHALLENGE #1: Change just one thing in the code to make it print 10 blocks

CHALLENGE #2: Change the code so that it creates a horizontal block of 5 blocks (going across not down)

CHALLENGE #3: Change the code so that it creates 20 tiny blocks going across: e.g: ■ ■ ■ ■ ■ ■ ■ ■ ■ ■ ■ ■ ■ ■ ■ ■

The mysterious Binary language

Did you know that the only 'language' a computer really understands is 'Binary'. The reason for this is because a computer is ultimately made up of billions of tiny circuits. The circuits in a computer's processor are made up of billions of transistors.

A transistor is a tiny switch that is activated by the electronic signals it receives. The digits 1 and 0 used in binary reflect the on and off states of a transistor. And that's why we need binary!When you code in Python or JavaScript, a special piece of software (like a compiler or interpreter) converts your high level language code, into machine code (Binary)
